We've all probably used melt and pour soap base, but few, if any of us, have ever made it.

There are several varieties of melt and pour bases. Slice the block of goat’s milk soap base into cubes that are approximately ½” in size. Soap, by definition, is fat or oil mixed with an alkali.

Melt and pour is a quick process and never needs curing to set. Because the soap base is already premade all you need to do is melt it and add your favourite ingredients. You’re going to need enough for 1 tablespoon of lemon zest.

5% superfat (or lye discount) Divide the soap base in half. Some oils are quick tracing while others take a long time.

Spritz two of the square cavities with rubbing alcohol. If your soap recipe was heavy in olive oil it will take longer to trace. This is the process i started with because it is perfect for beginners.
